06 Sonata

just wonder ,My son bought a 06 Sonata pretty good shape mechanical and body
question how many Kilometers or miles usually put on before gone to junk
he has 221 K km so far. drives well. its been serviced good before he bought it, no oil leaks, air ice cold etc.

There is no number. It will last as long as it's well maintained.

ok thanks, but it has a small issue the DRL slightly flickers , battery ok and charging should be ok too ,since there's no alt light on dash. any idea why?

Loose wiring or loose bulb or any of a number of things
I would clean the battery terminals and any grounds
Then hope for the best

ok here's the story. he went to get gas parked the car turn off ignition and light switch, but he said dash lights were on and a/c heat light still on.he was fliping on and off ( i guess the head light switch) nothing's happening. so he restart the car turn lights on and off again and it went back to norm.
I tested the car before I went to work all was ok just the DRL very little flickered
I wonder if would it show if I scan it ,I have borrow the tool on weekend.

Scanning for a flickering light? A car that is 11 years old and lived in Canada (it seems)?

You most likely have corrosion in a connector or at the light bulb. It may simply be the light bulb burning out. Don't forget to look at any and all ground connections and straps.

got it checked by guy who does only electrical , re setting computers etc. yes #1 clean both post on battery, (battery is new,but somebody before did not clean clamps when replaced) then under the dash left side there's a main harness , unplug while battery is disconnected check for loose connection, sometimes over the years it gets loose/sloppy. he said Hyundai and Kia always have harness problems. so not this weekend but next ill do it. if still remains he will hook up his lap top and trace it. just to let you guys know

Sounds like faulty ignition switch
If it is and you decide to replace it then do just the switch and not the whole lock cylinder

ok
so far not bad. i was busy this weekend and he works night shift , but I'll clean up battery etc and see whats up
