Default '09 SE V6 loose steering wheel

Just bought a new 09 SE V6. Smooth ride and love it so far, but the steering wheel seems to have some play in it (not an extreme amount, but enough that it's noticeable) and the overall feeling is that it doesn't quite handle as tightly to the road as I'd expect. Anyone else experience this or know if this can be fixed so it handles to the road with more responsiveness? Thanks.

Assuming you test drove the car before deciding to buy it, does it feel different? If it feels the same that probably is the way it is and not much could be done. If it is different or has changed in the time you've had the car you should take it in and have the dealer check it out.

I bought a new 2009 Sonata GLS i4 in October 2008 and seemed to have the same problem when crusing on the highway especially when it was kind of windy. Seems the car would wander a bit. However after a few months it got better and now it is just about gone. Seems to be no problem if I am not thinking about it. Hope that helps, Billy

Add a couple psi to the front tires. Mine felt the same, just a bit of wander on the freeway. The only other solution is to add a bit of toe-in on the front. The power steering is just a bit over-boosted at highway speeds.

Expect some play in the wind, any car, bus, truck will blow around in the wind. If you turn the wheel slightly on the highway either direction the car should start to move, if not you may have some play.

Thanks guys for advice. I was on the highway yesterday and it happened once I hit 60 but then again I was thinking and putting too much focus on it.
