Our 2009 Sonata's passenger seat, seat belt light has an annoying habit of flashing even if I put something as small as a cell phone or small camera on the seat. Now, none of these things weigh more than a pound, so I am wondering if this is common, or is the sensor too sensitive in my car? I like top put my purse on the passenger seat beside me (it's a small purse and weighs far less than a baby would), but I can't do this unless I want to be distracted by that flashing light on my drive. Any suggestions?

 

1) Take to the dealer for warranty repair. The switches have a history of going bad.
2) Fasten the seatbelt even when someone is not in the seat.
