1999 Sonata 4 cylinder check engine light

I have a 1999 Sonata 4 cylinder the check engine light comes on and it give a p0340 code cam sensor circuit malfuction. I have replaced the cam sensor and cleared code but still comes back. The car stumbles and will stall after it gets to operating temp.

It might not be the sensor. It could be a bad wire/ground or even a problem with the computer itself.

I see that some one spliced a new connector on, could that be the reason?

Could be. I'd check that first.

All the butt connectors feel tight but could they have mixed the wires. Does anyone know where the wires go as far as colors. The original has one pink and two black but the new connector is all black so which position do they go in.

If the wires look good is there a way to know if the computer is bad?
