2000 Sonata GLS - Weak acceleration

Now, I'm fully aware that this isn't a sports car.. but my gas pedal is flat out squishy when it comes to acceleration - if floored it can take off decently, but if applied moderately the car seems to take off very slowly.. it kind of feels like a lawnmower that's taking on way too much tall grass at once - bogging down. Once it hits above 2500 rpm or so the acceleration seems to kick in better, but below that it just seems to crawl.

Anyway, I suspect my fuel system may be clogged/dirty (whether it be the fuel filter or the injectors). Or, perhaps.. maybe my fuel pump isn't delivering enough pressure without the throttle being floored. Or, maybe I'm just expecting too much after my last car (a 1997 3.8L V6 grand prix).

Question 1: Am I the only one who feels the 2000 Sonata V6 is somewhat weak in acceleration?
Question 2: Are my guesses reasonable? Anything else you could think of?
Question 3: How do I go about remedying this issue?
Question 4: Is the fuel pump's pressure constant or does it vary depending on the demand of the engine?
