Default 2 Quarts of Red Line

I have two quarts of "Red Line MTL" API GL-4 Gear Oil (SAE 70W80) will this work with my 2000 Sonata 2.4 manual?

http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/catalog...70w80-gl-4.htm

If so do I need to fully drain the transmission before using the "Red Line" a.k.a. will it mix with my current fluid if I drain some and not all.

Thank You.

I'm sure it would work, it's just that it's not the recommended stuff. You're supposed to use synthetic 75-90 stuff. The other thing is you probably need 2 1/2 quarts. It should mix with no trouble.

Default That you for that information.

Will the friction coefficient of Red Line MTL work in the (2000 Sonata) transmission. Accelerated syncro wear is something I would definitely want to avoid.

Thanks

Frankly, I wouldn't worry about it unless you plan on slamming gears and driving like an idiot. But if you really want to worry, then spring $12 for the correct stuff.
