Default 2001 Radio removal?

Hi guys, I'm completely new to the forum, and after searching, I cannot find any help on removing the radio from my friends 2001 sonata. I have fiddled with it, but I don't wanna take too much apart, or break something while taking it apart the improper way. Could anyone throw me some kind of advice or help? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Without ever having seen one, I can tell you it doesn't say anything about removing the ashtray or shifter panel. First, take the neg battery cable off, then remove the console **** ( I assume it's the big *** on the radio). Then CAREFULLY pry off the fascia panel (look at the drawing) It has tabs on the top, so I assume you pry from the top. I assume the air temp switch control is also mounted to the fascia, so disconnect the cables from that. Once you get the fascia off, then just unscrew the radio unit and unhook the cables.

Does that make any sense?
