Default 2002 Sonata won't start

Hi all,

I hope you can help me. My 2002 Sonata V6 was working as fine as one could with 125,000 miles on it. My son accidently set off the alarm when he did not close the rear door properly. He had trouble getting it to stop and he put the key in the ignition and turned it to Start. It stopped and everything was fine. The next day I opened the door with the remote and the dome light went on and all of the usual lights on the dash and the radio went on when I put the key in the ignition. I turned the key to start and nothing. The battery was cleaned by my husband last week and my starter is about 8 months old. It was not clicking as if it was the starter but there was a buzzing sound from a box on the top left side under the hood. Could this be the ignition module? Could it be something simple as resetting the alarm? (fingers crossed) We disconnected the battery and reconnected it, checked al of the fuses under the steering wheel and tried to disarm the alarm as per the instructions in the manual. I even checked to make sure the shift was in park. The fact that the box is buzzing leads me to believe we either tripped something or it was just a coinsidence and it was something that was bound to go sooner or later. I can't seem to find the fuse box under the hood. Can someone point me in the right direction. I am hoping you all can help me as I really can't afford a repair if the labor is going to be expensive.

Thanks for your help!

Terrie
