2006 hyundai sonata gear shift bulb replacement
I would like information on how to replace the gear shift light bulb below my console of my automatic transmission. My '06 Sonata is the most reliable car I have ever owned--since new!
I don't know if your vehicle uses a bulb or maybe an LED or fiber optic to lite up the position selected.
If you called a dealership Parts Dept , provided your vehicle VIN, they should be able to tell you which and if it is available. Once you have that info you can decide where to go from there,, what do you think?

Thanks for your suggestion.
Checked with parts dept.and it appears that this "bulb" is part of a wiring assembly that retails for $70. Plus the installation requires lots of disassembly to get to it. It's not worth the cost to me to pay that much for illumination plus the labor to install it.
