2006 Sonata Camshaft Sensor

Hi guys,

I have a 2006 Hyundai Sonata V6 3.3 with 106k miles on it. A couple of weeks ago, I had the check engine light come on, and there were some instances where I would try to accelerate, and the transmission would slip. I checked the code and it showed P0340(Camshaft Bank 1). I went to a shop and got it repaired... only to have the problem come back a week later, and the check engine light would come on periodically, as well as very few instances of transmission slipping(otherwise the car drives fine when those do not occur).
So I decided to take it back to the shop so they fix their mistake, but they told me that I had a coolant leak at that point and asked for $700 to replace that. I said no, went to the dealer, and they said that Bank 1 DID need replacing, but the other one was replaced. So I checked, and it looks like the one closest to the front(the easier one to replace) had been changed. Based on research online, it looks like that is Bank 2 and the one that is harder to replace is Bank 1. Could some with more knowledge about the car let me know if that is right? I want to be certain the shop replaced the wrong part before I go back there to talk to them. Also, how hard is it to DIY Bank 1 Camshaft sensor?

Thanks in advance!

Bank 1 is the side of the engine closer to the firewall.
Bank 2 is the side of the engine closer to the radiator.

If the shop changed the wrong one, I'd go back and have them replace the one that needs replacing. Their mistake, their cost.
