During my car Inspection they informed me that my check engine light is not turning on at all. I would like to avoid taking it into a shop and replace it myself.

Can anyone please provide instructions on how to access the cluster in order to replace this light. I know how to take the bottom panel off under my steering column but do not know if that will allow me to access the dashboard. Also if anyone know what kind of light is needed here that information would be greatly appreciated.
