2006 sonata rough idle

Hi I am new to this forum and I just bought a 2006 sonata and I realized that it had a rough idle. It has 65k miles so i thought maybe the spark plugs were bad and replaced them it did not fix the problem so I was wondering if any of you could help me. just wondering if it is maybe my ISC or 02 sensor.

Maybe. I think the ISC on both engines is integrated into what is called the electronic throttle controller (ETC) which has both ISC and TPS functions. I would look for a vacuum leak and check the PCV valve first. I wouldnt mess with the O2 sensors until an error code indicating a problem with them showed up.

i would advice to clean up youre throttel body from carbon deposites n also use throttel spray cleaner is advised ... do make sure its at normal temperature operation, switch it off engine, dismantel ure air intake hose, you can see if ure throttel are dirty .. juz spray em do becareful the engine is hot ...dont get youreself burn with the hot temp metals... flip youre throttel flap and spray some more till the can is empty .

*reason to warm up - the spray can work and melt down the carbons deposites inside.
- you will come across to hard to ignite the engine. (keep on cranking + press accelerator padel to 2,000-3000 rpm.
-smoke will come out idle it till at least 3mins with full aircondition on ..
-do spray ure throttel cleaner to the aircon idler located near to the flap -thrus will clean the deposite in it.
-do these at every 10,000km

after these steps you should feel better responce & smoother idling engine.

p/s: change youre air filter element/spark plugs/fuel filter if u have one..

good luck :)
