2006 Sonata speedometer & Shifting Issue

My son's 2006 Sonata is having shifting issues. The Speedometer stopped working. The car is starting in 2nd and will shift up to 3rd. It is an automatic transmission. I checked the transmission fluid and it looks very good. Reverse works as well. Any recommendations? :)
