2008 Sonata ESC turns it self off

My 08 Sonata has been turning the ESC off by it self. As i am driving i will notice the ESC light come on it i toggle the switch nothing happens but when i turn the car off and back on it clears. This has happened about 6 to 8 times over the last month. Has any one had this happen any ideas what might be causing it to happen. I have looked for recalls but don't see anything.
Thanks.

Something is wrong with it. A bad sensor or something. 5 year warranty: covered.

Do brake lamps work? Try to check The Brake Light Switch because it's COMMON PROBLEM OF hyundai and try to check ESC fuse too.

I just had the same problem with my 2008 Sonata. It looks like the brake light switch is cheap and easy to replace. Hopefully, mine has over 60K on it. But I will have to check the next time this happens to verify that the brake lights are out. Or that's how I understand it. Anybody know if the brake lights could still work and yet the switch is still the problem?

My 2010 Sonata (14000 Miles) ESC light goes on and the car goes into "Limp" mode (Won't accelerate, creeps along at 20 mph.) Towed into dealer 4 times in July- no relief but plenty of stories. Contacted Hyundai talked Vincent, Alexander, Lora, Corey et. al. All would help. Was told their regional office would call me. That 2 days ago. (I think their regional office is the waste paper basket.)
Question is: what recourse do you have if a dealer svc. dept. decides a repair is too costly??

It's still covered under the 5y/60k mile warranty. If this dealer is giving you problems, find a different one with a better service department.

What happened to Lora, Alexander, et. al. at Hyundai Corp. and the helpful "regional office"??? Shouldn't they help a situation like this, or just fluff it off?

I don't know what you are talking about. If the service department of your dealer stinks, go to a different dealer.
