2010 Hyundai Sonata spy shots

Hyundai Sonata will get a complete makeover for the 2010 model year and some major changes are going to be made to it's design. The vehicle will get a four-door coupe like body shape, which, so far, looks AWESOME!

Here are a few 2010 Hyundai Sonata spy shots a future Sonata rendering.

From what we can see, this looks very good. But will it be a 2010 in the U.S.? They just revised the interior for the 2009. So I’m guessing that it will be introduced in calendar year 2010, perhaps in the spring like the 2009, as a 2011.

That rendering is stunning. I think Hyundai is getting tired of always being criticized for theirboring/generic exterior designs and it looks like they're making a statement with the new Sonata. Not only does it look fantastic, but I bet the content level will be much higher for the limited model; stuff like engine immobilizer, power passenger seat, auto up/down passenger window, rear door pockets, sliding armrest, HID headlights, keyless entry and push button start, rain sensing wipers etc. I actually wish some of those things came with the current model, especially on the limited trim. People say Hyundai gives you a lot for the money, but actually when you really break it down, I think the current Sonata is priced just right. It's down on horsepower and torque compared to the competitors, and it's down on feature content. Doesn't mean it's a bad car, I love mine, but it's not the steal of the century the way some people make it out to be.

I bet Toyota and Honda are losing a lot of sleep over Hyundai these days. That new Sonata (if it actually looks like that) is sure to cause some major insommonia unless Toyota and Honda make some major design changes to the Camry and Accord.
