2011 Hyundai Sonata High/Low Pressure Fuel Pump Problems

Hello,

Recently I had to replace my high and low pressure fuel pumps. According to Hyundai, they both failed. This did not happen at the same time, if that makes a difference. However, the mechanic that replaced the low pressure fuel pump advised the "housing board" (best way I can describe it) where the fuel pumps plug into is melted. So, now we're not sure if this melted plug in area was the cause of the car failures or if I really did need to replace both fuel pumps. Mechanic was going to replace that board, but he can't find it listed anywhere, almost as if it's not a part that ever needs to be replaced. Has anyone had these fuel pump issues before?

Any insight is appreciated.

Thank you.

I am assuming you drive a diesel engine with a low pressure pump and the high pressure pump.
No, I have never owned a diesel.
Maybe you can look up the part number on Hyundaioemparts.com??
Or you could even try RockAuto.com??

Best of luck to you

Yes, I guess it would be a diesel engine. 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS. Forgot to mention the GLS part. I'm having my dad check on that parts website. Looks promising.

Thank you!
