Default 2012 Sonata completely died on highway

I have a 2012 Sonata with only 2000 miles on the vehicle. Haven't had any problems with the car until now. I was driving about 65 on the highway when all of a sudden all of my dash indicator warnings lit up on the dashboard, my RPMs went to zero, and my throttle just wouldn't go. I pulled the vehicle over on the side of the road, put it in park, shut it off, and proceeded to try to start the car again. Nothing. Makes a clicking noise but will not turn over at all. I checked the oil, that's about all I could think of because I know nothing about cars, and the oil level was fine. I sat on the side of the road for about 2 hours for a tow truck and the car remained the same.

Any ideas on what in the world could have happended to literally a brand new car? Did the engine blow up or something? I just can't think of anything that would cause the car to completely shut off that wouldn't be some major problem under the hood.

Even the Bluelink/SOS services I had were absolutely useless. The phone rang for 2 hours straight. No one would answer the phone calls my car was making. I had to walk to get service on my cell phone. Glad to know that Hyundai is "there for you", NOT! If I was half dead in a ditch in the middle of no where and couldn't get help!

So much for my good opinion I had on these vehicles....

Input would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Just spoke to the dealership. Sounds like entire motor needs to be replaced. They have not gotten the authorization from Hyundai on whether or not to dig into the vehicle or send the entire vehicle and motor back. Perhaps this is a new recall in the making or just a freakish episode with the 2012 I got?

I had the same exact thing happen to my 2012 GE 2.4L which has 700 miles! I was going 40 MPH down the street and engine just completely shut off. Instrument panel starting lighting up all the errors and it said to call Bluelink (which I didn't try). I was able to pull over and turn off the car. I tried the engine and it just kept turning without starting. I gave it a minute and it started back up again and I drove it straight to work and it emailed me with three fault codes and gave a check engine light. I called the dealership and they said to bring it in and they have a "platinum status" mechanic so he should be able to fix it. It's been less than 24 hours so I haven't heard back yet what the problem is.
