My husband and I just purchased a 2011 Sonata GLS last night, and we are trying to decide on accessories before we pick it up on Friday. We're wondering if we should purchase the iPod cable from the dealer or if we can pick one up somewhere else at a cheaper price that would work just as well. Is there something "special" about the iPod cable from the dealer?

I have the ipod cable for my 2011 and it looks very cheap. However this cable only works with ipods. If you have other mp3 players this cable won't work. I have seen them online cheaper at different sights.

 

You can pick one up on ebay for about $14. I picked up my 2011 Sonata Limited 2.0t w/ NAV on Wednesday and just asked my salesman if he would through in an iPod cable...he said sure and grabbed one for me.

 

I asked the salesman when I bought the car and he gave me one as well.

 

I bought a 2013 Sonata Limited w/Nav a few weeks ago and love it! It truly is a remarkable buy for the money! I do have a few issues with iPod / iPhone connectivity and just what is available to me when I hook either up using the OEM cable.

I have no issues with either playing through the cable. I can play by playlist, album, artist, or from the beginning of my library. My issue is this...

I want to be able to see my album artwork on the display. I have read some posts where some have been successful at doing this through the cable and some have been successful at doing it through Bluetooth streaming.

Any suggestions?
