cam shaft positioning sensor

Hello all, recently i got p0340 code on my engine, i have hyundai sonata 2007, car is perfect , 65000 km, no problem at all, the code is related to cam shaft positioning sensore, interestingly after 1week it turned off :), again yesterday after driving like 400 km it turned back on, any idea whats really going on? I would like to get your idea before i take the car to service. I use 5-40 mobil oil in case there is any dependency.

Appreciate any insighty thoughts on this as i dont want tobe framed by hyundai service.

Thank u all.

I would look into pretty quickly...once that goes, you'll be dead in the water.. check your timing belt also, as teeth could be missing from the belt causing the error code with the crankshaft position sensor..

Thank u for your reply. Atleast somebody replied in this forum. Some facts about my car . 2007 sonata 2.4 benzin. No problem since i bought it . Currently there is no problem apart from this p0340 code. The check engine light turned on. After 1 week it turnd off.didnt turn on for a month again it turned back on 2 days ago. One question: does the oil filter and oil play a role in this?the oil filter looks small when i bought it.well its not the hyundai original part. But that is annoying me. I have appointment to take the car to the service on mon, would really like to know if changing the oil filter and the oil might help me out.

Really appreciate your toughts and help.

Oil is Mobil 5-40

P0349 is the cam sensor...don't think the oil filter has anything to do with that..I would get a new one and see if that takes care of the problem..also, check the ignition coils with an old spark plug, and make sure boil coils are giving you good spark..
