Thanks for stopping by! I am strongly considering a 2015 Hyundai Sonata SE as a starter car because I have always been impressed by the value, aesthetics and quality of Korean cars! However, I also have some worries as I have heard about the engine issues (e.g. catching fire, stalling), the using up of engine oil quickly, water seeping into the trunk, etc. Any insight would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!

Something you might consider,
Why are used cars out there?
The previous owner had plenty of $$$ and just was tired of the car so traded it for a new one.
The previous owner may have had a problem with the vehicle that to them was not worth the cost to repair.
Maybe there was a problem nobody could correct and they were tired of putting any more $$$ into it
If you know the previous owner they might tell you the real reason they want to unload it.

If you have a good tech/mechanic, have them check the vehicle before you buy it.
There is nothing like actually physically looking over a vehicle with a trained eye and experience as to what to look for.
