Diagnostic port under the hood of a 2008 hyundai sonata 2.4L
What is the diagnostic port under the hood on the passenger side used for, having trouble figuring out why my daughter's car won't start. Any help would be appreciated. And I also have a code that won't clear out no matter what I do.P0198 engine oil temp sensor circuit high input.
Something you might try,
The code is telling us the signal from the oil press sensor is not rational and is too high voltage wise.
The sensor or wiring is shorted to voltage. This pulls the voltage to all the other sensors down preventing them from working.
The simplest thing to do is unplug the plug from the oil pressure sensor and then see if the engine will start.
If it does , just replace the oil press sensor. If possible provide a Hyundai dealership parts dept with your VIN and they should be able to supply the correct part.
