DOHC V-6 timing belt
I just purchased a 2001 Sonata from the original owner. It has 123,000 miles and is due for a timing belt (was replaced at 61,000). Do I need special tools to hold the cams in position? I have changed timing belts on various other engines, but have not done a DOHC V-6 before. The local dealer quoted me $480.00 to replace the belt. I understand setting the tension on the hyd. tensioner can be tricky also. I'm still trying to find a decent shop manual before I decide to tackle this job. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
