engine lag & stalling

I need some help! I have a 2001 Sonata 4cyl, and the car does not want to go. It seems like the car is not getting fuel. It will start up but barely keep an idel. If I put the car in R or D I have to fight with it to not stall out. If the car runs more than 4 to 5 minuites, on the muffler pipe where the bottom o2 sensor is, the pipe will get extramely red hot. The can has no hores power to barely move. I have already replaced these parts: battery, spark plugs, spark plug wires, o2 sensor, fuel filter, fuel pump, & gas pressure release valve. Also there's no check engine light on. I cleaned the injectors and fuel rod. I don't know where to look from here. Please help!

Thank you,
Chris

RE: engine lag & stalling

Hi, I have an 02 Sonata 4cyl & have been having exactly the same problem. This week the check light did come on so took it to my local dealer who plugged in the computer and this showed that an ignition coil block was faulty. There are two of these situated on top the engine between the rocker covers.

Hope this helps,

Chris.
