Gas tank Problem

Ok i live in Central wisconsin and i own a 2002 Sonata. Was wondering if anyone has had the problem with the gas tank. While filing up the gas does not go down the and it takes like 10-15 minutes to fill to full. While filing it keeps clicking as if it were full. Took it to a repair shop and they said they fixed it and it worked fine for about a month. Now the same problem persists and need to know if anyone else has had the same problem. Thanks for any feedback

there is a valve on top of the tank, it's actually in the fuel filler hose. it's called the fuel fill valve, that's what actually cuts the pump off, when it's bad that's what happens with fuel. it kicks back the pump making you think the tank is full.

Are you in the habit of topping off? If you go beyond the first click when filling on a car that doesn't have any fill problems, it can get gasoline into the vent system and gum things up. Regardless, you're probably out of the 5 year/60,000 mile warranty period anyway; the repair to the vent system is gonna be on your nickle. It can be rather involved and is best done by a dealer.

This just started happening to me!

So if it is this fuel valve anyone know how much it'll cost to have it fixed?

Thanks!
