Help Needed

Hello everyone,

Ok, I took my car (SONATA 2000 V6 2.5L) to a Hyundai dealer and as a preliminary diagnosis, they told me that it may be an electronic piece called TPS sensor(they may have meant TCS sensor) that is causing the problem. So far so good, but when it came to finances, these guys said fixing it should be around $500. Now my question is as follow. Can a regular mechanics change this part? Is it just a plug and play type of device or does it really has to be the dealer who changes it? I mean I will feel really dumb paying for something that you have just to unplug and replace.

Thanks in advance for your response

What's "the problem"? The TPS is the Throttle Position Sensor and it attaches to the throttle body. Yes it's something a regular mechanic can fix.

I can't think of any sensor called the TCS. TCS to me is Traction Control System.
