How do I Lock the Steering wheel?
 

I have a 2007 Sonata Limited and when I park the car I like to lock my steering wheel. After I remove the keys from the ignition the steering wheel still doesn't lock. I've tried various positions without success and the service dept. has not been any help. They've suggested Ikeep trying.
Has anyone solved this riddle???

take key out and spin the wheel .DUH .

I think he's saying that when he does that, it still doesn't lock and he can turn the wheel.

You need to be a little more assertive and tell them they *they* need to keep trying until they get it right.

Thanks Doohickie, I DID state in my post that I had removed the key. I actually rotated the wheel to no avail. Of course it barely turns once you take out the key. I've tried various positions with the wheel prior to turning off the car. Then removing the key the wheel still doesn't lock.I'll pursue it with the service department. Thanks.

If there is another Hyundai dealer nearby besides the one you've been to, try a different dealer.

I bought my Elantra 40 miles from home, but there are three dealers closer. I got all my work done at the closest dealer and they didn't give me any trouble at all.

Are they supposed to lock?? My last few vehicles (newer models) including my Chevy Colorado does not lock. I guess they figure there's enough anti-theft stuff in there it's not needed. I haven't tried it with the Sonata, so I don't know.
