How often is recommended?

How often are oil changes recommended for Sonatas 06?
I know the standard rule of 3 months or 3000 miles for most vehicles, but I know that some recent model vehicles have a different guideline and I was wondering under which category the 06 Sonata falls in.

My advice: switch to synthetic oil and change itevery 5000-6000 miles. That's what I do with all my cars.

Hey Folks

If my memory serves me correctly, I read in the owners manual that the oil changes are recommended @ 7,500 miles under normal driving conditions. I use synthetic & change every 6,000 miles.

My dealer even put a reminder sticker on my windshield for it to be done at 7,500 miles per Hyundai recommendations. I'm not sure what type of oil they are using in the 2008 Sonatas though.

Hyundai's warrenty requirement is every 7500 miles. Synthetic oil is man made base and additives unless you choose "Castrol Syntec" which is NOT a true synthetic. Syntec is a conventional base with synthetic addatives. Mobil 1 or Royal Purple are your best bets if you want a synthetic oil.
