I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HYUNDAI
 

I bought a used '01 sonata a couple years ago and it's been nothingbut trouble ever since. It only had 40k when I bought it, but the check engine light has lit up more times than I can remember. The timing belt broke when it had 50k miles on it. I had planned on replacing it when it hit 60k, but it gaveoutbefore then. Fortunately there was no engine damage, so I justhad to replace the belt and water pump. Now the crankshaft sensoris out which renders the car useless. Once that gets fixed,I imagine something else will give out.I will never buy a hyundai again. I'm going back to Nissan. I bought a used '92Nissan Sentra with 175kmiles in 2000. I had that car for 5 years before I bought mycrappySonata and it never gave me any problems.In fact,I put 85k miles on itin the five years I had it and the engine was still purring like a kitten. Who knew upgrading would become such a nightmare.

The Sonatas built after 02 were better with the new body styling.

well, I have two toyota trucks
02 tacoma and 04 tundra
They run fine except they have this noise near the enigne(for both cars). It just sounds like something is clicking but not when the cars are on the move though.

I bought a sonata for the first time and it's actually my first Hyundai. it hasnevermade any weird noise near the engine.

Like "Moonz" said Japanese cars are getting worse while Korean cars get better.
