New Sonata...lovin' it..just one noise
Got the 4-cyl GLS...quite a break in gas compared to my Tundra.
Now I know the Sonata will ride a little rougher than the Tundra but I seem to detect a thump or rattle when the right front tire hits a small bump or dip...anybody else experience this? Sounds like it could be a loose shock..could just be the lower profile tires than I'm used to...but I don't think so |
Check the anti-rattle clips on the front brake pads.... when you see a pot hole or a rail road track coming up, 'gently' touch the brake pedal & see if the sound disappears. A dab of brake grease on the back of the shoe, along with a slight 'bend' in the anti-rattle clip usually cures that one.

Thanks, Jim...I'll give it a try.

Please post back, and let us know how it goes!

Well, Jim, that wasn't it.
Sounds like something close to under the passenger side floorboard..in another week, it may get bad enough to be detected...at any rate I'll get it up and look underneath for something obvious before I take it in. Other than this, still lovin' the car...back seat is really comfortable for a small car. Ed |
Sorry man. It was just a thought... one that I chased on a vehicle of my own for 3 months!

i bet its the sound of crappy front struts w/no dampening
|
Any fix for this? Replacement with after-market?

Next step, under the car you go! Grab & shake every thing you can get your grubbies on... sway bar, suspension arms, brackets.... it's gotta be there somewhere!!
