Running Lights
So here is the story of why i've gotten pulled over 12 times in the past 3 months.
One of my rear running lights was out. So i decided to just replace them both. After i did that I realized that the side that was having NO problems wasn't working now. So 4 bulbs and 12 warnings later i still cant figure out what is wrong with it. any advice? i really don't want to have to pay someone. i am brokeity broke. thanks for your time folks. -jason. |

Just replace the bulbs that are out.

Are the new bulbs you're putting in burning out immediately or just not working? Either way you obviously have an electrical problem (or bad bulbs). If the problem is confined to the rear lights only at least you can focus your attention to that area.
You will probably just have to start inspecting and testing the wiring, fuses, lights, etc. It might be helpful to give more complete information such as the year of your Sonata? Is this a recent purchase and this was an existing condition of the vehicle or have you owned it long-term and this just started happening? Have there been any repairs/modifications just prior to this problem that may be related? Do the brake lights still work? |
Okay sorry...
my fault for not being clearer.. it is a 1999 V6 Sonata. I have owned it for a year and two months. the bulbs i have tried are brand new and they just don't turn on.. the bulb works when the brakes are applied.. i am 90% sure it is an electrical problem.. i just don't know where to start.. i guess a good question would be... how do i figure out which wire controls which part of the bulb? the electric is getting to the brake part of the bulb..but somehow not to the constant running part of the bulb... sorry if i sound like an idiot.. i appreciate you folks for putting a little effort into my problem. thanks. Best Regards, jason |
