Sonata 2006 Clicking Noise
Hello,
Hope to get some help with my 2006 Sonata. I have experienced on two occasions a clicking noise coming from what sounds like the front passenger side area (either wheel or engine); noise only happens after a long commute and I have turned off the engine and then started the engine.Time between off and start up is between 20 to 30 minutes; noise seems to get louder and faster as the engine is engaged but is non-existent at coasting or maintaining speed.
When in neutral and engine engage no noise is present also when in “drive” and applying the brake no noise is present. After setting about 9 to 12 hours car runs normal. About 3 to 4 weeks between incidents.
Sonata is a V6 GLS with about 44K miles. Only other problem was the timing chain tensioner but that has been corrected.
Thanks in advance.
