No fuel smell, no codes, no overheating, I went to the store earlier this evening, my base model 04 sonata was running fine. On the way home it all the sudden started to what felt like the motor was starting to miss. just running real rough. I go to pull over at the gas station and it dies before coming to a stop. so i go buy some injector cleaner and some engine treatment. After that it would run, but not very well. I cant accelerate fast and when the car gets to about 2 grand it starts to cut out. what could be the problem? i dont want to just start tearing apart the engine to see what is wrong. all was completely random too. Thanks for all your help guys. Its appreciated.

 

Can we ask what kind of maintenance your vehicle has received ?
Many times routine maintenance can prevent things like this from taking place.

 

the previous owner stated that it had regular maintenance, oil change spark plugs, etc. but looking at it now, def. been a while..
