Question Hyundai Sonata '08 - Good deal?

Greetings,

I'm considering the following offer by a local dealer, but wanted to find out if this is a good deal or not.

I currently have a 2001 Hyundai Sonata with about 180K miles, and several defects (broken antenae, broken handle, just to name a few). I'm looking to upgrade vehicles. I've never had any issues with my Sonata, but am looking for something with good MPG, as I may be commuting more than I've done with my previous Sonata.

I've been contemplating a 2009 Toyota Camry, which supposedly get 27C/35H, but at a couple thousand more than the Sonatas being offered above. I understand Hyundai has a better warranty than Toyota. It's a tough call - better warranty, less MPG, or more MPG, but far less warranty?

I don't know. 35K miles on a 1+ year old car seems like a lot. You realize the warranty is only good for another 25k miles right? That means it will probably be gone in 2 years if you drive the typical 12k miles a year most people do.

You also realize that all the "options" listed are actually standard features. That is basically a bottom of the barrel, no option Sonata. Edmunds.com estimates the price at $11,990. So if you consider a $40 savings a good deal, go for it. Personally, I don't think it's a good deal at all.

35K miles means it's either a rental car or a lease. A lease would be ok, but I wouldn't buy a rental. For $15K you could get a new one.
