Unable to find the PCV valve
Can, or has any one pinpointed the PCV valve in their Sonata, I have an 06 with the 3.3 V6. The diagram was kindly posted here: https://www.hyundaiforum.com/forum/s...?t=6487&page=2
I've printed it out, flipped the page over, http://www.hmaservice.com/data/Passe...G/eerf086b.gif The engine diagram shows the oil filter and filler tube, good refernce point. Except, it doesn't show where the PCV valve is, the diagram above does but I must be mechanically illiterate and find myself un-able to read this diagram. I've searched around the air box, tried to follow the breather hoses. The new PCV valve from the dealer is threaded, I've looked on both sides of the engine and I'm drawing blanks. I'd appreciate it if someone can point me in the right direction, thanks. -Byron |
PCV Valve location
I just replaced my plugs on a 2006 Sonata with 3.3 and the PCV valve can be replaced once the surge tank is removed. It is located on the right rear of the engine when standing in front of the car.

Mine is 2.4gls
Greetings, It was difficult finding mine the other day meanwhile it was staring at me all the while. Unscrew the two nuts holding the plastic covering the engine and remove it. There's a hose next to the engine oil filler cap. The hose is about 6" long with another thick but soft material around it. Remove the clip with pliers then pull out the hose gently. When that is done, remove the short soft material about 1" with pliers but be careful so that u don't tear it. Now use a light guage ring spanner, carefully envelope the pcv valve and turn anticlockwise till it's out.
