unable to seat bulb
I have three Hyundais and learned with my 2003 Sonata that you must remove the head light pods if you want the lights to have that bright spot when changing out a bulb.
I got in my son's 2003 Sonata yesterday morning and could barely see ten feet in front of me. When I got home last night, I took both pods out and discovered both bulbs were not seated in the pod. I reseated them both and replaced them in the car. The right light had the bright spot but the left was just a wash. I took the left one out and found that it was still seated properly, so I replaced the pod and brought the height adjustment up a little, but still just a wash of light. The bulb still burns brightly, but does anyone think that maybe the bulb needs replacing? This has never happened before especially when the bulb is seated properly. Daniel |
You might consider replacing that bulb. If you feel so inclined swap sides with the bulbs to eliminate any possible other problem. If the problem moves with the bulb, it's a pretty good indicator the bulb may have a problem.

Good point! I'll try switching bulbs before buying one.
