Terracan heater set up
 

Hi the heater arm control motor (at bottom of dash that opens and closes the heater hot air flap ) has failed on my 2006 Terracan 2.9 FD CRTD Limited, model NM81X VIN KMHNM81XR6U207018 not wanting to pay the £ 380.00 for a new one I replaced the electric motor in the unit and it does seem to work.
However it does not work properly,upon power up the arm will move to a position but then will not move when you adjust the heater setting ( from cold 17 to hot 32 ) , I think that it needs to be set up once fitted to the vehicle.
IE I think that (even with a brand new unit) that the arm of the unit needs to be at a certain setting or angle this may correspond with 2 arrows that are stamped into the metal on the mounting bracket this I also think will need to correspond with the digital setting on the heater and A/C control unit in the central console with starts at 17 (cold) and goes to 32 (Maximum hot).
Has anyone done this before ?
I have asked my local Hyundai dealers Wokingham, Reading and Basingstoke and they really don't want to help at all saying that either they have nobody that has worked on this vehicle (Wokingham) or don't have time to find out the information for me (Basingstoke) or the vehicle is too old (Reading).
Can anyone help ?
