03 Tiburon GSR Problem - Need Help

Hey Everyone,

I have a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon GSR; 2.7 V6 Automatic; Canadian Car.

The problem I have is that when the car is started for the 1st time in the morning after sitting over night the car will bog out and stall. Then I restart the car and she works fine. But then lately this has been happening as well....when drives along foot off the gas (coasting at lower speeds, rpm approx 1-1.5; idol rpm) I will get a small clunk then the rpms will shoot up 3. The car does not accelerate just the rpms shoot up. Then once I touch the gas the rpms will go back down 1-1.5.

Has anyone had this problem before, or know what could be causing this to happen....If so please email me: srnevans@hotmail.com

Thanks!!!

How many miles?
Did you change the transmission fluid?

Note: You don't need duplicate posts here, we'll see it. You don't need people to email you the answer, it's for reference we do everything in the forum. Just check back every so often for an answer.

Hey,

Sorry about the multi post, I'm new and I am not up on the rules and regulations.

As for the car, theres 123xxx kms on the vehicle and I had the transmission fluid changed last wednesday. I had the problem before the transmission change and I still have the problem after.

Thanks,
-Shawn

Obvioiusly you've been dealing with this problem, and have come here as some sort of "second stringer".

Your stalling problem is unrelated to your downshifting problem. If you want an educated opinion on this forum, you need to provide more info, like the maintainence history and anything else that's happened.
