05 Tiburon 4 Cylinder Oil Change

Hey guys, my I've been asked to change the oil on a 05 tiburon 4 cylinder. Only catch is I gotta do it at there house so I gotta bring my tools with me. Besides my jack and stands what size wrenches sockets should I bring? Can you get a socket on the oil pan drain bolt? Pics? Wheres the oil filter at on these cars?

Thanks

You'll need a 17mm socket for the oil plug that, I know for sure. Most vehicles the oil pan is right underneath. According to this picture I found on google, it looks like the oil pan and plug are labeled 20 and 22. the oil filter is labeled 26 and should be very close to the oil pan. I also included some other pics to help you see what it looks like. Good luck, if you have any other questions, let me know

Vanga, I had to remove your pictures because they were showing the TRANSMISSION oil drain plug, not the ENGINE oil drain plug.

Here is the correct picture:

The engine oil drain plug is on the side of the pan facing the rear of the car on the passenger side.
The engine oil filter is on the side of the engine facing the front of the car on the passenger side.

the first picture was correct, the other two maybe not, like I said I have a six cylinder and I'm not an authorized mechanic so I'm not familiar with the 4 cyl but i did call the hyundai dealer and its for sure a 17mm socket, the drain plug shouldn't be too hard to find. I've never encountered a vehicle where the plug isn't on the oil pan somewhere.

Thanks guys, helps a lot. Is there gonna be a skid plate in my way?

NovaResource 03-26-2011 08:22 AM

There shouldn't be. There wasn't one on my 2004 Tib.

NovaResource is right, there shouldn't be one unless you installed an aftermarket one.
