Bad gas milage????

I own a hyundai tiberon gt 2007 model. The car has 55k on it, oil is changed regularly, car runs great no problems! My question is, when I bought this car in july, I would fill up the tank and my digital fuel gauge would say i had 270-280 miles til empty. Lately, for the past month and a half when I fill it up my didital gauge says I have 210-220 miles til empty? Thats a big difference! The thing is I don't understand why this happend. I use mid-grade fuel and like I said I change the oil every 3,000. I had it in for oil change sept. 28th and there was nothing wrong with the car. No leaks, no burning oil, fuel filter was fine etc....the only thing different on this car is that it had just gotten brand new tires put on it right before I bought it but I would think that would make the gas mileage better? Any suggestions or anyone have something similiar happen to them?

It's your driving style. As the computer calculates your MPG it uses that information to determine the range you will get in the next tank. If the last tank you did a lot of city driving that lowered your estimated MPG then the computer will assume you will drive the same way on the next tank and lower the estimated range.

If you did a lot of highway driving and got a high MPG on the last tank then the estimate for the next tank would be higher.

Nothing is wrong with your car. It's your driving.

Thanks! That makes a lot of sense because I do use my car for a part time job i have delivering flyers to mailboxes so I'm always stopping and going in it. I was hoping thats what it was but since I don't know much about hyundais, I wanted to make sure.
