Clutch Problem

Hello
I recently replaced my clutch and now i only have like a 3" swing to my clutch pedal. i havent tryed to start it or move it as of now. Ive had the transmission out about 4 times trying to find out whats wrong and everything seems to be ok. if anyone has experienced this before please help me.

RE: Clutch Problem

ok so can you engage any gears without stalling or any crunching?

RE: Clutch Problem

at that time no i couldnt. but i found out why i had the short swing was b/c the slave cyl. was bottoming out. but it still wasnt disengaging al lthe way. no i needed the car to drive home b/c my college year ended so i mod. the release lever so it did disengage but im going to have to find out why it didnt want to disengage before.

RE: Clutch Problem

this might sound daft but have you got the correct clutch kit installed because if you can move the slave to the end of its stroke then it must be a mechanical fault like either the wrong release bearing or pressure plate?

RE: Clutch Problem

yeah we thought the same thing but we measured both sets and they are within .001 of each other. not enough to make a difference.

RE: Clutch Problem

is it the pull type clutch as in the 1.8/2.0/2.7 or is it the push type in the 1.6?
