Clutch replacement 2003 GT V6, 6 speeds

Ok, tired to spend $1900 every year for clutch and flywheel replacement.
1- Does any one has a link to a DIY since there is so much involve to access the clutch.
2- does anyone has effectively installed an after market clucth kit and or flywheels that works correctly and last longer than original OEM parts? if so tell me about it .
Appreciate.
Thank You

i just got my stage 3 XTD clutch and a Fidanza flywheel but have not installed yet, gonna install on monday or tuesday,
oh by the way dont ever get a stock clucth replacement, when you ready to replace get any aftermarket clutch it will last longer because hyundai is known to have problem with stck clutch it goes bad very fast, so ill let you know what happens when i install it.

no they dont cover that caz they say it depends on driver how fast it burns, they replaced my clutch right before i took it of the dealer and it burned about a month later ( well i was smoking tires like everyday) i mean how can you not with that car :)

I have had the same problem on a 2004 GT Tib.

No the dealer will not warrenty a clutch they claim it is a fare-ware & tare item.

I have had 2 clutches go bad on mine and have only had it for 15000 miles (40000 total miles on the car).

1st time. I had a Fidanza flywheel and aftermarket stage 1 clutch & pressure plate installed (I dont recall the manufacturer). It lasted 6000 miles.

Now is the 2nd time. Fidanza flywheel and Stage 3 OFE Series clutch & presure plate from South Bend Clutch (south Bend, IN). Slave cylinder mod done. Clutch gets instaled 12/13 /06

I have seen on other forums where they are doing a mod on the Clutch slave cylinder. By taking off where the fluid goes in to the slave cylinder and removing the fluid restrictor valve & spring. Which makes sense. If the fluid is being slowed down then the clutch is engaged or disengaged it would cause slippage resulting in premature ware and eventuly clutch failure.

Just for the record. I drive & own a tractor trailer and have over 750000 miles on the original clutch. So, I do know how to use a manual transmision.

I know v6 tib owners who swear by Clutchmasters stage 3 clutch and Clutchmasters lightweight flywheel. Thats what I'll be getting when my factory set up is done, which will be soon. Factory Hyundai clutches are very weak. Take out your slave cylinder spring, and get a good aftermarket kevlar clutch and lightweight flywheel setup and your clutch will last for awhile. Hyundai VERY VERY rarely will cover a clutch and flywheel under warranty.
