Please help
 

I've looked everywhere and I need to find out whats wrong with my stereo in my 01 Tib. The other day it just shut off and won't come back on. I just really need help in finding out whats up. If you know how to take the radio out, please tell me so I can check the wires. I do know a little about that but I've never pulled out a car stereo before. I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.

OK, don't listen to that guy.
He's being ignorant.

Realistically,she probally popped the radio fuse ( a 5amp I belive), or the main audio fuse (a 10amp).
Look in the in-car fusebox and check those fuses before anything else.

Also, is it a factory radio or an aftermarket?

As far as I know its stock. It sounds really good for a stock system though. I never inquired about that because its always worked just fine and sounded great. I checked the 10amp fuse but I didnt know there was a 5. ( I have limited knowledge of car stereo's so please bear with me)

Oh and thanks for helping me out. I'm tired of driving in silence. haha

I went out and checked and I dont have a 5 amp fuse. I'll do somemore checking tomorrow. I really need this fixed.

there might be a fuse in the back of theradio. it has been a while since i seen my stock radio. if i was you iwould seeif your getting power to your radio first.

Thats exactly what it looks like. If its behind the stereo then I need some info on getting the cover around it off. It looks like it just snaps off but I need to know for sure so I dont break anything.

After I get the cover off, I should be good to go. Check the wires and the fuse if its back there.

1.first you need to take the plastic peice off that is around the shifter in just snaps in.
then there are to screws an inch of two under the radio take those out
2. then there are 4 screws on the side of the center council 2 by seats and 2 in the front of the center council
3 then when you get the both screws out. the front of the center council should be some what lose pull it apart pull there is a lip in the front that is keeping the radio in
4you should be able to pullradio out from the bottom just dont pull to hard(just watch the cig.lighter wire)you might not have enough room to pull it out all the way so you will have to put it in gear)

Well I got it out, thanks everyone. No problems with fuses or wires, it seems my radio just died. This sucks, now I gotta find a new radio.

Just go to Best Buy and get a unit off the shelf for cheap and wire it in.
Cheapest and easiest route.
