Question about Tiburon Accent motor compatability

Hey guys.

So my sister ran her 2001 Tiburon with a 4cyl DOHC engine without oil, and she destroyed her motor.

I have a lot of experience working on Hondas, and i know that many honda motors and transmissions are pretty much interchangeable. Is it the same with Hyundais? I was thinking about pulling the motor and ECU from an accent and putting it in her tiburon, still using her old transmission.

What kind of problems can you guys forsee with this? How do the wiring and piping match up?

RE: Question about Tiburon Accent motor compatability

The Accent has the Alpha 4-cyl, the Tib uses the Beta 4-cyl. Two totally different engines. It would require a lot of modifications to swap the 2. What you could do is talk to these people:http://betaswapshop.com/ They do the opposite of what you want to do. They install the Beta into the Accent. I guess whatever problem they have, you will have in the opposite way.
