I have a 99 tiburon automatic.. lately the transmission seems to slip when i put it in to drive and press the gas (acts as though its in neutral).Anyone know what might be causing this? also is it possible/difficult to swap the auto trans to a 5 speed?

 

Trans is slipping, could be low fluid, but probably it's toast. You could try to flush and replace the fluid, but no guarantees.

It's possible to convert to manual, but you need the trans, new axles, hydrolic clutch parts. The big problem is the ECM is all set up for auto.

I don't recommend it, it's not for the feint of heart.
