Transmission flush
 

I have an 06 Tib with 34000 miles-they tell me it's time for a flush-does anyone know a good place in the everett/lynnwood/mill creek area who's good and reasonable? The dealer wants $190 and I'm wondering if I can get a better deal. Also, are they telling me the truth-do I really need this now or are they selling me a bill of goods because I"m a woman? They said I also need a 30,000 mile service cycle d at $379 (which my husband looked at and I don't-he did the few things actually necessary on this list), and a fuel injection service for $170. Thanks for any info you have out there!

Yes, to maintain your warranty you must do the 30K mile service. That includes:
- oil/filter change
- automatic trans fluid change (using the correct Hyundai fluid)
- coolant system flush
- rotate tires
- new air filter
- multiple inspections (brakes, suspension, etc.)
(see list below; prices will vary)

That service is usually $400-500 depending on the car. Yes it needs to be done and in my opinion should be done at the dealer because Hyundai automatics require a very specific trans fluid that most non-Hyundai mechanics don't realize.

The fuel injection service isn't needed at 30K.

Thanks, NovaResource. I can't find anything about fuel injection service at all-just fuel lines, hoses, and connections. I know I must sound like an idiot, but I want to understand this car. I'm tired of men just telling me what I need, and having no idea what any of it means!

You are smart for wanting to learn so you can speak with knowledge and confidence at the mechanic. My advice to you is read over the service portion of the owners manual. It will tell you exactly what service needs to be done and when. Also, no matter how easy you think you may be on your car, the majority of vehicles on the road are operating under the "severe" service interval.

Tis true! They will try to take advantage of you if they think they can. Another service you don't need is the "engine flush". Also "front end alignment" is a biggie. Alignment is nice to do, but normally it's like a minor adjustment on such a new car. I don't trust that they do all the "inspections" unless it's a casual glance.
