2006 Hyundai Tucson O2 sensors
 

Hi,

I'm new on this forum...
I have continuous problem with my hyundai Tucson limited from 2006, and it turned out to be related to O2 sensors this time...

I need to replace the 2 upstream sensors B1/S1 and B2/S1, and mechanics is asking me $750 which I think is a bit exagerated.
I'd like to know if you know how to locate both of them, how to know which one is which one?
I can't put my hand on schemes to be sure...
I'm planning to try it myself, but I'd like some advice if anybody has any...

Don't know Tucsons
When a mechanic is asking so much money for changing the up stream O2s,
it usually means that they are located in a difficult spot
Lots of stuff must be removed first before they can access the O2 sensors??
But, as I said, I don't know Tucsons.

I don't think they need 3H to replace 2 O2 sensors...

I actually think I was able to locate them... the B2S1 is very easy to access, right in front and that's the one on top...
The B1S1 on the other hand needs to be accessed from below I think, and since it's on top, it doesn't seem to be that easy...at least without appropriate tools...

Anybody can confirm this? any suggestions before it jump into the replacements?

Hi all,

I replaced my O2 sensors this week end, and I'm gonna give some information for other people that might have the same problem...

1st : Bosch sensors wont fit .. at least not on the B2S1 position. Because of the length of the sensor, you won't be able to put it back on.
2nd : Denso sensors are OK, but still a bit long so you might have a problem to reinstall the sensor. You won't have enough space for the sensor socket, so you might want to prepare a small adjustable wrench (1 inch). (takes 5 minutes if you have the tools).
3rd : The B1S1 could be easily replaced if the heat shield wasn't there. mine was offset and I had to partially removed it, to place the sensor socket and remove the sensor. Once done, you can easily replace the sensor. I actually went from above to unplug the electrical (by removing the air intake + filter).

It took me about 30 min once I had all the right tools to replace them.
Definitely, saved $500 there... :)
