2006 Tucson - timing belt question

We have a 2006 Tucson Limited (V6). It's driven around 9,000 miles a year. It just turned 5 years old and I had the 45,000 mile service done. The dealer said the timing belt should be changed every 5 years or 60,000 miles. I've never heard the 5 year part before. Is that really recommended? If I wait until closer to 60,000 miles am I going to have any warranty issues? We had purchased an extended warranty at the dealer.

Thanks

Yes, time is just as hard on the timing belt as mileage. If you want to keep your engine warranty, do it now. If the belt breaks it was do serious damage to the engine. The warranty will not cover the repairs if you didn't replace it when Hyundai said to do it.

Timingbelt installation

Hello,

I have been able to take of the timingbelt, but I didn't see how the timingmarks were lined up when it was still on...

It's a Hyundai Tucson 2.0l 83kW engine from 2005

There is no mark on the motor for the camschaft...

Can anyone give me a discripion from a manual of send me a picture of the correct place of the timingmark when the belt is on...

Thx,

Björn
