2010 Tucson Potential Buy--Is CRV better
I am looking for a small SUV for our 16 year old daughter. Looking at the 2010 Hyundai Tucson Limited AWD or a 2008 generation CRV EX-L. I rarely see any Tucson's but see 100's of CRV's on the roads. I know they sell more but does that also mean they are that much better?
I drove a 2011 KIA SX Sportage today and quite frankly was not impressed with the the somewhat harsh ride and felt the interior(although the top of the line with navigation) had a lot of hard plastics. I have no local Tucson's to drive and the one I have found and like is 2 1/2 hours away. Can anyone please comment on the reliability of the Tucson's and how they really do compare to the CRV and Sportage. I thought the Kia looked nice. Does the Tucson compare or is it more tamed down? What about interior quality/looks compared to Sportage and CRV. The Tucson has 113k miles. tks |
Never drove a Tucson but I do own a 2007 Honda CR-V.
The Honda came with the usual problems Bad AC compressor .. due to bad design .. AC compressor is a very hot spot and the clutch is known to fail. Also had lots of rust on the speaker wires. Driver's side speaker was dead. Rusted so bad that I couldn't get the connectors off. Otherwise, love the vehicle. Much more comfortable than my 2001 Elantra. I see lots of Honda CR-Vs on the road. I mean a lot!!! This means that there should be many parts available for it .. especially in a pick and pull .. Or, U-pull it ... junkyard. Also lots of youtube videos available to find how to do work on CR-Vs. But, I am biased. Just have to avoid the new 2018 or 2019 turbo engines which leak fuel into the oil. |
