Default Airbag light

Hi all, the airbag light has just come on in my 06 Tucson. My wife has recently been using the car whilst I find her a new one so the drivers seat has been moving position quite regularly. Is there an obvious connector that could have moved and caused it? I’ve had a fiddle under the seat but light is still on. Any help would be much appreciated

It would be good move to have your vehicle checked for any codes. If it shows any , that will provide some direction and save a lot of diagnostic time..
Places like Autozone will usually check for codes at no cost. Post it/ them here .

Is it an obd2 in these cars? If so I’ll buy a scanner. Thanks so far

Bought an air bag code reader and it says driver impact sensor fault to Earth. Any ideas where to look for this?

You might purchase the driver's side sensor then look for that part up front in the engine compartment near the radiator

Thanks Hank, is it obvious to spot or is it hidden away?

They put them in different places. Look for wires going to the part you seek.

Wow, located the part and just been to the dealer for a replacement. It’s £227 and no refundable if it isn’t that at fault. Is there any was of testing the sensor to confirm that it is that part that is faulty before I buy a new one??

Usually checks are performed for power and ground (earth). You would require a wiring diagram to determine just where power comes in and where the (earth) connection is located. There could be a rubbed through wire to earth under the seat somewhere . That is what the code might be suggesting.

Thanks Hank. I’ll try and remove the seat or wiggle the plugs around
