cannot start the car if the remote is not working

Hi everyone i am new on the forum and wonder if anyone else has the same problem as i have with my 2005 tucson diesel model
The other day my remote battery decided not to work as the the battery had gone flat so i used the key to open the door and the alarm went off as expected on putting the key in the ignition and turning it on i would have expected it to cut out the alarm and be able to start the car just like my Jag does but all i do is take the key out and lock the car up again to turn off the alarm but i am worried about getting stuck in a remote place with my caravan to bring back home if i have not got a spare battery
has this happened to you thanks mick

Works as designed. Nothing wrong.

Hi thanks for the reply seems a very strange system cant see why everyone must carry new batteries around in the car just in case it goes flat i have only had the car 7 months and so far i have replaced 3 batteries a well if thats the way it is i will just have to go with it thanks mick

No need to carry batteries around. I've had my Tucson over 4 years and my battery still hasn't died.
